After Alexander's death in 323 BCE, his generals (the Diadochi) fought over his empire. The eventual division created three major kingdoms: Antigonus in Macedonia, Seleucus (not 'Selecusus') in Asia, and Ptolemy in Egypt, founding the Hellenistic dynasties.
