The ancient Olympic Games were a religious and athletic festival held every four years at the sanctuary of Zeus in Olympia, Greece. They were dedicated to Zeus, the king of the Greek gods. Theodosius I eventually banned them, while Coubertin and Louis are figures associated with the modern Olympic revival.
