Lake Baikal in southern Siberia, Russia, is the world's deepest lake with a maximum depth of 1,642 meters (5,387 feet). The Caspian Sea (not actually a sea but a lake) has a maximum depth of about 1,025 meters, and the Dead Sea is much shallower at about 306 meters deep.
