Old NH 7 (before 2010 renumbering) was India's longest north-south highway, connecting Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh to Kanyakumari at India's southern tip. This 2,369 km route passed through Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. None of the other options match this north-south corridor configuration.
