The principle of material removal in electrochemical machining is Faraday’s law. Faraday’s First law states that the amount of chemical change produced by a current is proportional to the quantity of electricity passed, i.e. equal current produce equal amount of decomposition. Faraday’s second law states the quantities of substance deposited on the electrode by the passage of a given quantity of electricity are proportional to the chemical equivalent weight of those substances.
