What was Thomas Edison's first invention?

Thomas Edison was born on 11th February in 1847 in Ohio. In his childhood his family shifted to Michigan. He was facing a tough time in school and struggled. Thus, he studied at home from his mother. At 15 he became a ‘tramp telegrapher’. His profile included sending and receiving messages via an electronically-conveyed alphabet called morse code,using different clicks for each letter. Edison was curious about the functioning of things. He used to disassemble things to understand how they worked. Quite obviously,he decided to become an inventor. In 1870, Edison improved the functioning of stock ticker and soon formed a company where he sold stock tickers. Thereafter, he began working on telegraph. He invented a new type of telegraph which could send four messages at once. 

In 1877 Edison invented a Phonograph which was an instrument that recorded and played back different sounds. Edison invented the world\'s first talking doll.
