Scenario – 1
Newton lived to a ripe age and earned great fame. He was elected as the member of the Parliament, but he did not care for worldly fame and he was never proud of his vast knowledge. Whatever knowledge he had, was very little in comparison to what is still to be learnt. He said, “I think myself to be a child who is playing on the seashore and is picking a small pebble from here and there whereas the vast ocean of truth lies unexplored before me.
Scenario 2
Socrates was a Greek philosopher. He was never angry. He thought that a short tempered man is like a wild animal. His wife was short tempered. One day she flew into a great rage. She began to insult her husband. Socrates decided that he would remain calm. He went out and sat at the door-sill. He paid no heed to the words of his wife. His wife came out and emptied a bucket of water on him. On seeing this, the passers-by laughed and Socrates also laughed and said, “I was expecting this because after thunder comes rain.”
