Directions: Read the following passage and answer the question that follows.

The night was cold and dark. There was a great storm, thunder and lighting. Most men and animals, adequately protected, were happily asleep in their homes. But, some worried monkeys were searching the forest for a warm home. They looked everywhere for shelter.
Suddenly they saw some fireflies, which have a light in their tails. The monkeys took it to be a fire. They said, “We will go near it and warm ourselves.” There was a flock of birds in a tree nearby. One bird had a kind heart and it felt sorry for the monkeys. It called out to the monkeys and said, “That is not a fire, my friends. Those are fireflies. They give no heat. It is futile to run after them.” The monkeys got furious. One monkey said rudely, “Is it so? We don’t want unsolicited advice. We will teach you a lesson for saying there is no fire.” They jumped up the tree and pulled the nest. “Alas!” said the bird, “why did I try to help a fool?”
