Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is a hypercalcemic hormone, i.e., it increases the blood Ca2+ levels. The atrial wall of our heart secretes a peptide hormone called atrial natriuretic factor (ANF). When blood pressure is increased, ANF is secreted which causes dilation of the blood vessels. This reduces the blood pressure. Antidiuretic hormone, also known commonly as vasopressin, is a nine amino acid peptide secreted from the posterior pituitary.
