Comus (1634) is a masque (a courtly entertainment) by John Milton, celebrating the triumph of virtue over temptation. It features the Lady who resists the enchantments of the debauched spirit Comus. T. S. Eliot was a modernist poet, and 'Mark Twin' is a garbled Mark Twain.
