Panchatantra, an ancient Indian collection of fables, is traditionally attributed to Vishnu Sharma. The stories, featuring animals, teach practical wisdom and statecraft through moral tales. It's one of the most widely translated Sanskrit works. Tulsidas wrote Ramcharitmanas, Premchand was a modern Hindi writer, and Uma Krishnaswamy is a contemporary children's author.
