Lake Baikal in Russia contains approximately 23,600 cubic kilometers of water, making it the world's largest lake by volume. While the Caspian Sea has a larger surface area, Baikal's exceptional depth (over 1,600 meters) allows it to hold more freshwater than any other lake globally.
