In geography, temperate or tepid latitudes of the globe lie between the tropics and the polar regions.
In a very broad sense, temperate climate also includes a subtropical climate, variants: subtropical semi-desert/desert, humid subtropical, oceanic subtropical and Mediterranean climate. However, a typical temperate climate is one of the four climate zones in the world, besides polar regions (subarctic climate, arctic climate, tundra climate, ice cap climate) and the sub-tropics, tropics.
The forest types found in cool temperate regions are: Deciduous forests, Evergreen coniferous forests and Mixed forests.
