The Mansabdari system was the unique military and administrative organization of the Mughal Empire, introduced by Akbar. Every officer held a mansab (rank) determining their salary and military responsibilities. Mansabdars maintained a specific number of cavalrymen and served in both civil and military capacities. This system centralized control, allowed for flexible military organization, and integrated diverse nobility into the imperial structure.
