Neurons (brain cells) are indeed the longest living cells in the human body. Most neurons are formed before birth and can survive for the entire lifespan - over 100 years in some cases. Unlike skin cells (2-3 weeks), red blood cells (120 days), or muscle cells (which regenerate), neurons typically do not undergo cell division in adulthood and must last a lifetime. Hair cells are constantly shed and replaced.
