The Bengal Gazette (also known as Hicky's Gazette) founded in 1780 by James Augustus Hicky was India's first newspaper. Kesari was launched later by Bal Gangadhar Tilak in 1881, New India by Bipin Chandra Pal in 1915, and Vichar Lahiri was not a newspaper.
