Isogamy is a form of sexual reproduction where gametes are morphologically similar or identical (no distinction between 'male' and 'female' gametes). Monocystis, a protozoan parasite of earthworms, exhibits isogamy. Hydra reproduces asexually by budding, Planaria can reproduce both sexually and asexually, and Plasmodium (malaria parasite) has complex sexual and asexual stages in its life cycle.
