Typhlosole is an inward fold of the intestinal wall found in earthworms (Pheretima posthuma) that increases surface area for digestion and nutrient absorption. It is not present in cockroaches (Periplaneta), Hydra (cnidarian), Ascaris (nematode), or Paramecium (protozoan).
