The Caspian Sea is the world's largest lake by both area and volume. Despite its name, it is actually an inland body of water with no outflow to the ocean. It covers approximately 371,000 square kilometers and is bordered by five countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Azerbaijan.
