Who proposed the structure of Benzene

August Kekulé proposed the ring structure of benzene in 1865, suggesting alternating single and double bonds in a hexagonal arrangement. This structure, known as the Kekulé structure, was revolutionary in understanding aromatic chemistry. Legend says he discovered it after dreaming of a snake biting its own tail, representing the cyclic nature.
