Samudragupta of the Gupta dynasty was called the Indian Napoleon by historian V.A. Smith due to his extensive military conquests. Like Napoleon, Samudragupta conquered many neighboring kingdoms and expanded his empire across a vast territory. His military campaigns are documented in the Allahabad Pillar inscription by his court poet Harisena.
