A restaurant in Mumbai has made a 37 kg 'imarti' to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
Not a case of too many chefs - 12 people teamed up to spend nearly four hours on preparing the giant sweet. "It took 100 days of practice and close to 20 hours of work daily", Gaurav Chaturvedi, the head chef at Mumbai's Sanskriti Restaurant, said.
Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, who was also present when the record was set, created the first perimeter of the imarti, 9 ft in diameter. "Food brings people together, it's an opportunity for people to share happiness. I'm very happy to be here", he said.
The team also made the largest jalebi in the world weighing 18 kg with a diameter of 9 ft, breaking the previous record of 8.2 ft.
