Which of the following types of soils is produced by granite and geniss on weathering?

Granite and gneiss are rich in feldspar and quartz. When weathered in tropical conditions, they produce red soils due to the formation of iron oxides from the breakdown of ferromagnesian minerals. This process, called ferrallitization, gives the soil its characteristic red color. Black soils form from basalt, yellow from less-oxidized conditions, and laterite requires more extreme leaching.
