A hamada is a type of desert landscape characterized by a rock-covered surface with large, exposed bedrock or gravel pavement. Unlike erg deserts (sand dunes), hamadas feature solid rock surfaces with minimal sand, creating barren, rocky terrain typical of the Sahara.
