Fenny (or Feni) is a Goan alcoholic beverage that is traditionally made from either coconut or cashew apples. The coconut variety is produced from the sap of the coconut palm tree, which is fermented and then distilled. While cashew fenny is also popular and perhaps more well-known internationally, coconut fenny has a longer history and is equally authentic to Goa's culinary heritage. The other fruits listed (orange, lime, banana) are not used in traditional fenny production.
