Jamshedpur is called the Pittsburgh of India because like Pittsburgh (USA), it is a major steel manufacturing city. It houses Tata Steel, India's first integrated steel plant established by Jamsetji Tata. Kolkata is a major city but not specifically known for this nickname. Jabalpur and Nagpur are important cities but not steel hubs.
