Chetan Sharma became the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in One Day International cricket on October 31, 1987, against New Zealand in the Reliance World Cup. He achieved this feat by dismissing three consecutive New Zealand batsmen - Ken Rutherford, Ian Smith, and Ewen Chatfield. Chetan Chauhan (option A), Rajesh Chauhan (option B), and Ajay Sharma (option C) were all Indian cricketers but never took an ODI hat-trick.
