The Indus Valley Civilization (c. 3300-1300 BCE) was a Chalcolithic culture that knew copper, bronze, gold, and silver. Iron smelting was not discovered in the Indian subcontinent until much later, around the beginning of the second millennium BCE, after the decline of the Indus Valley Civilization.
