Birds (Aves) have forelimbs that are highly modified into wings for flight. The bones of the wing are homologous to the human arm but are fused, reduced in number, and modified to support feathers and the aerodynamic demands of flying. In contrast, fish have fins, reptiles typically have legs for walking, and amphibians have legs for both swimming and terrestrial locomotion.
