Bauxite is the primary ore of aluminum, containing hydrated aluminum oxides. It is the raw material from which aluminum is extracted through the Bayer process and Hall-Heroult electrolytic reduction. India has significant bauxite deposits in Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat.
