Haemocyanin is a copper-based respiratory pigment found primarily in molluscs (such as snails, octopus, and clams) and some arthropods. Unlike haemoglobin (iron-based in vertebrates), haemocyanin is blue when oxygenated and colorless when deoxygenated.
