Find the ratio of milk and water in the final mixture. दो पात्रों में दूध तथा पानी का अनुपात क्रमशः 5 : 3 तथा 5 : 7 है। इन्हें 5 : 4 के अनुपात में मिलाया जाता है। अन्तिम मिश्रण में दूध तथा पानी का अनुपात ज्ञात कीजिये।

Vessel 1 has ratio 5:3, so 5/8 milk and 3/8 water. Vessel 2 has ratio 5:7, so 5/12 milk and 7/12 water. Taking them in 5:4 ratio means 5 units from V1 and 4 units from V2. Milk from V1: 5 × (5/8) = 25/8. Water from V1: 5 × (3/8) = 15/8. Milk from V2: 4 × (5/12) = 20/12 = 5/3. Water from V2: 4 × (7/12) = 28/12 = 7/3. Total milk = 25/8 + 5/3 = (75 + 40)/24 = 115/24. Total water = 15/8 + 7/3 = (45 + 56)/24 = 101/24. Ratio = 115:101.
