This ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) genius is considered "the first figure of a physician to stand out clearly in the mists of antiquity" -- 2,500 years before the "father of medicine," Hippocrates

Imhotep was an ancient Egyptian polymath who served as chancellor to the pharaoh Djoser and is considered the first physician in recorded history, living around 2600 BCE - about 2,500 years before Hippocrates. He was also an architect and designed the Step Pyramid at Saqqara. Thoth, Khufu, and Plato were not primarily known as physicians.
