NFC (Near Field Communication) operates on the principle of inductive coupling between two coil antennas. When devices are brought within close proximity (typically 4cm or less), magnetic induction generates an electric current that enables data transmission. Magnetic coupling alone is incomplete without the inductive mechanism, and electromagnetic coupling is too broad a term.
