Name the first woman of Sahitya Academy award ?

Amrita Pritam was the first woman to receive the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1956 for her magnum opus 'Pinjar' (The Skeleton). She was a pioneering Punjabi writer and poet. Sarojini Naidu was primarily known as a poet and freedom fighter, Mahasweta Devi was a Bengali writer and social activist (received the award later), and Manjula Padmanabhan is a contemporary playwright and writer.
