Robert Watson Watt led the team that developed practical radar technology in Britain in the 1930s. While multiple researchers contributed to radio wave detection (including Hertz, Tesla, and others), Watson Watt is credited with inventing the first practical radar system for aircraft detection. Henri Becquerel discovered radioactivity, Max Planck founded quantum theory, and Humphry Davy is known for work in electrochemistry and the safety lamp.
