The original Constitution of India (1950) had 7 fundamental rights: Right to Equality, Right to Freedom, Right against Exploitation, Right to Freedom of Religion, Cultural and Educational Rights, and Right to Property (later removed through 44th Amendment in 1978), and Right to Constitutional Remedies. Many students mistakenly think there were 6 or 8, but 7 is the correct historical answer.
