Acousticophobia is the fear of noise or loud sounds, derived from 'acoustic' relating to sound. This is a specific phobia within anxiety disorders. It differs from thalassophobia (fear of the sea), theatrophobia (fear of theatres), or kathisophobia (fear of sitting).
