Saqlain Mushtaq, the Pakistani off-spinner, is credited with inventing the 'doosra' - a delivery that spins away from right-handed batsmen (the opposite direction of a normal off-break). He developed this variation in the 1990s, and later bowlers like Muttiah Muralitharan and Harbhajan Singh also became famous practitioners of this delivery.
