Jainism originated in ancient Magadha, located in modern-day Bihar. The 24 Tirthankaras, including Mahavira, preached in this region. While Gujarat later became an important center of Jainism, it was not the birthplace. Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh don't have this historical significance for Jainism's origins.
