Kedarnath is a Hindu temple located in the Garhwal Himalayan range at an altitude of about 3,583 meters (11,755 ft). It is accessible only by foot and only during summer months (usually May/June to October/November) due to heavy snowfall in winter. The temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and closes during winter. Omkareshwar is on an island, Grishneshwar and Nageshvara are more accessible.
