The Airbus A380 is indeed the largest commercial airliner ever built in terms of passenger capacity (typically 525-553 passengers in three-class configuration, up to 853 in single-class) and physical size. It entered service in 2007 and holds this record to date. While some military aircraft are larger, no commercial passenger aircraft exceeds the A380's size.
