La Paz (or more precisely, La Paz-El Alto) is the administrative capital of Bolivia, situated high in the Andes mountains at over 3,600 meters elevation. It's one of the highest capital cities in the world. Bangkok is in Thailand, Kuala Lumpur is in Malaysia, and Islamabad is in Pakistan.
