Praia is the capital and largest city of Cape Verde, located on the island of Santiago. It became the capital in 1770 when the seat of government was transferred from Ribeira Grande (now Cidade Velha). The other options (Minilia, Zilina, Polongo) are not real cities in Cape Verde.
