Odysseus (Ulysses in Roman mythology) was the king of Ithaca, famous for his role in the Trojan War and his 10-year journey home recounted in the Odyssey. Perseus, Theseus, and Hercules were other Greek heroes who ruled different territories - Perseus ruled Mycenae, Theseus ruled Athens, and Hercules was from Thebes.
