Punjab is called 'the land of five rivers' - the name derives from 'Panj' (five) and 'Ab' (water), referring to the five rivers (Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas, Sutlej) that flow through the region. Rajasthan is desert area, West Bengal has Ganga-Brahmaputra delta, and Uttar Pradesh has multiple rivers but isn't known as 'five rivers'.
